Summary
A covered round balakbak (left) and a round balakbak (right) modeled after historical balakbak c. 1910s in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Woven in November of 2025 on Oʻahu Island, Hawaiʻi for the art exhibition Ocean of Peace which debuted at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center December of 2025. These two pieces were procured by the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and Arts’ Arts in Public Places Program.
